Newbridge Networks Selects Art Technology
Group's Dynamo to Extend Their Global
eCommerce Services

World Leader in Networking products and systems will integrate ATG's market-proven
Dynamo Relationship Commerce(tm) suite to support sales processes, drive customer
satisfaction

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1998-- Art Technology Group (ATG) today announced that Newbridge
Networks, a world leader in the design, manufacture, marketing and service of a comprehensive family of networking
products and systems, has selected ATG's Dynamo(R) Relationship Commerce product suite to enable the Company to
develop extensive personalization functionality in support of its core eCommerce initiatives. ATG's Dynamo Relationship
Commerce technology is the market-proven eCommerce solution for the rapid development of scaleable, high-performance,
personalization-driven Web sites.

Using ATG's Dynamo Relationship Commerce technology, Newbridge is developing an expanded range of personalized
online offerings which will be delivered through a single-personalized front-end and multi-tier profile and registration system.
ATG's Dynamo technology will also provide a common platform for the distributed management and enrollment to
Newbridge's advanced information and transaction services. Furthermore the new system will allow Newbridge to target a
variety of key audiences, including current and prospective customers, channel partners, investors, and job seekers in
delivering real-time effective messaging and tailored online services.

''Our primary objective is not just about selling,'' said Alvaro Pombo, AVP eCommerce, Newbridge Networks, ''but to
build and enhance online relationships through high quality online services with both our strategic accounts and channel
partners. We selected ATG for their solid product and business strengths and, as important, because we firmly believe that
they could deliver a flexible personalized eCommerce interface, in harmony with our own business and distribution models.''

''The basis for building online customer loyalty is knowing who your audience is, and then targeting the most appropriate
content to that visitor,'' said Jeet Singh, President and CEO, ATG. ''As an industry leader, Newbridge understands that
personalization is a critical component in the development of a successful and profitable business-to-business Web site.
Newbridge is basing their e-commerce strategy on personalization that will further differentiate them from their competitors.
We're very pleased that ATG can provide the tools to help them achieve this goal.''

''ATG's Dynamo allows us to significantly reduce time to market in the development and continuous improvement of our
offerings,'' added Paul Haskins, Director of Internet Marketing, Newbridge Networks. ''Additionally, content management
has not been forgotten; integration with our Opentext Livelink document management system unites a wide range of
contributors in an expedited publishing process.''

Additionally, the Dynamo feature set and extensions allow the eCommerce team to develop a framework for business while
keeping Newbridge's field account managers in control of entitlement. As a result, Newbridge customers benefit from
improved access to many resources such as call center and ERP systems that would be difficult to manage from a traditional
central location.
