To the thread: Datek told me something today that I think is total BS. They said that a Nasdaq order to short can be "killed", in other words canceled, on a downtick. I never heard of such a thing, and have had plenty of orders to short stay open during downticks (they simply don't get filled, they don't get canceled).

Can anyone let me know if Datek is totally full of BS? Their comment was in response to my attempt to place an order for which I had sufficient margin but the online order system refused to take the order due to "insufficient margin." Happens all the time, he said. I just want to make sure before I yell at a supervisor. thanks
