The national media has depicted Hyde as this unassailable paragon of ethics and virtue. The Salon story puts that myth to rest. His defiant "legalistic" tone ("the statute of limitations has run out"? Gee, I didn't know God placed a statute of limitations on carnal sin) when responding to the issue shows him to be on no higher ethical or moral plain than the man he has been charged with judging. The bottom line is, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. And BTW, it doesn't matter where that story came from. Hyde 'fessed up to it.
Not that I'm a big fan of Clinton. Never voted for him, in fact. But I dislike his enemies even more than I dislike him.
