Some News TodayCLEARWATER, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1996--With a "Stage One" phase focused on new product and sales channel development accomplished, Level Best Golf, Inc. (NASDAQ: OTCBB.LBGF) will begin 1997 poised for an aggressive sales assault on the retail and infomercial marketplace, according to top executives of the Company.
"The Level Best team is excited to have reached the point in our plan where we can begin rolling out our national sales strategy," said Bill Foley, the Company's chief operating officer. "With the positive input and enthusiasm Level Best received from our sales team during its national sales meeting in November, we anticipate a strong sales launch for 1997."
During the Level Best sales meeting -- which was attended by all of its national sales representative groups -- the Company made a number of announcements pertinent to the future of Level Best, including:
- The confirmation of its golf products lineup for 1997,
consisting of ten training/teaching products and five products
that will comprise Level Best's golfcessories(tm) line of gift
items.
- The 15 products will carry retail prices from $14.95 to $129.95
and will appeal to all key channels of Level Best's distribution
network, including large specialty chains (e.g. Sports Authority),
mass merchants (e.g. Service Merchandise), as well as regional
chains and premium/incentive markets. "Our products hold the mass
appeal perfect for these shopping environments," said Foley.
"We're confident these types of accounts will embrace our
direction."
- With direct response television experts Script-to-Screen (Alien
Wedge, Nordic Trac), Level Best will begin filming an infomercial
for its all-new training product called the AngleIron in
mid-January, 1997. The infomercial is scheduled to broadcast
nationally at the end of the first quarter.
- In addition to the AngleIron, the Level Best "Scratch Score"
golf product will also be produced as an infomercial and is
scheduled to begin broadcast in April. Scratch Score Golf is based
on the highly successful "Maximizing Your Game" infomercial with
Wally Armstrong that sold more than 100,000 copies at $149.99.
Level Best forecasts strong sales performance from this product,
which will re-enter the market at a $59.99 price point.
- According to Foley, the strategy of airing these infomercials
simultaneously with the product launch at the retail store front
level promises to maximize their sales potential and is a strategy
the retailers support relative to making commitments to the
products.
- As part of its sales support plan, Level Best has reserved space
for large display booths at both the PGA Show (the premier golf
industry convention) and the Super Show (the nation's largest
sporting goods convention) in January and February, respectively.
Since the Level Best Sales meeting in November, the Company's sales teams have met with ten of the top 50 retailers in the country
-- all to enthusiastic response. "The reaction of the retailers we've met to date is beyond our expectations," remarked Foley. "Our retail customer's enthusiasm for our products, combined with the strong foundation we've built, gives us a great deal of confidence about the coming year."
