Congressman calls for minority status for Kashmiri Pandits

American Congressman Frank Pallone has urged Prime Minister Atal Behari
Vajpayee and the chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, Tahir
Mahmood, to accord minority status to Kashmiri Hindus, or Pandits. Pallone,
founder and co-chairman of the Congressional Caucus on India, also called on
the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) to address the
rights violations to which the Pandit community has been subjected, leading to
their fleeing the valley and living as refugees in Jammu, New Delhi and other
parts of India. In a letter to the U.S. representative to the UNHRC, Nancy
Rubin, Pallone urged that she take a "strong stance in highlighting Pandit
concerns" in her upcoming presentation to the Commission.

U.S. House approves Gandhi memorial in Washington

The United States House of Representatives has unanimously approved
legislation authorizing the Indian government to establish a memorial to honor
Mahatma Gandhi in Washington. The legislation stipulates that the U.S. will
not bear the cost of constructing or maintaining the memorial, but will provide
the vacant piece of land adjacent to the Indian Embassy on Massachusetts
Avenue for installation of the statue. The legislation was introduced by
Republican Frank Pallone, founder and co-chairman of the Congressional
Caucus on India. The bill was co-sponsored by Bill McCollum, the co-chair of
the India Caucus, and 17 others from the 92-member Caucus

Islamization Bill likely to be shelved
There is a surprising opposition against this bill, that deals punitive measures that matches the crime.

BTW: it was a funny piece on Bill and Monica. But I am beginning to feel that he is being persecuted by the press, legislative body and Starr and company. But it does not diminish the seriousness of his act on a lesser employee. Your link to Indian attitude on sex and politicians was informative.
