Jeff, ready for a laugh ? Like I stated before, I'm new to trading. I've always bought what I thought were quality stocks and held them. Most weren't. I don't have the money to subscribe to a real-time service yet, so I found the next best thing: Internet Trader by Kanisa. Same as what you use, but it's 15 minutes delayed and I can't use the software to trade. I use the Global Scan feature that allows me to select on a whole bunch of technical indicators, which I'm still trying to learn and master. Besides that, I try to use all the free services available to me on the net, and of course, my trusty IBD daily issue. Because I still think like a long-termer, I'm trying to combine fundamentals and technicals into my research. The technical side is still very confusing to me, so if I like the fundamentals enough, I'll wing it on the technical side.
I enjoy Jenna's thread a great deal, because I never thought about playing the earnings game, and other strategies posted here by others including yourself. It's also not a pure day-trader thread, so the stocks that are posted here, allow me some time do my DD. Right now, my priorities are to develop a solid research technique and most importantly find a trading style and stick with it regardless of emotions. That's not easy.
Any books or web sites you can suggest on Options ? This is what I want to experiment with next. Better stop here before I embarrass myself further.
