OK Marie here goes,

It's essential that you have great charts, otherwise it's all for nought.

Go to iqc.com you will have to sign on but it's free.
Once you're signed on, click the personal IQ chart, it takes awhile to load. Enlarge the graph. Under the chart and indicators buttons at the top left you'll find bollinger bands, moving ave. 1 & 2 (combine them), stochastics etc.
The ones I mentioned are my favorites on this chart.

The above site also has a good tutorial section on TA as well as an extensive explanation of candlesticks that I'm still working on.

OK now go to alphachart.com you don't have to sign up. this sight is chart only but its a nice chart.
You have to enter your stock in the upper right hand corner. Then punch enter on your keyboard.
Click your mouse to get a solid blue vertical line. Notice how with directional movement, stochastics, William%R...these indicators tend to portend or predict.
By the way the Bollinger bands on the previous chart are much easier to read.

Now go to investools.com
I set my chart at the 50--10--5 day moving average.
See how a 5 day crossing or ascending over a 10 usually is bullish.
You'll see this on the previous charts as well with their 7 and 14 day averages.

Please tell me that you're browser is able to access and use these sights especially the first two.

Another good TA course can be found at e-analytics.com press tutorials on technical indicators.

A previous poster mentioned the TA on this site which I have not seen but is probably quite good.

Anyway this is probably enough to get started. I'm taking some extended time off from other things so once you familiarize yourself with some of this just ask. I'll answer the best I can.

Having said all this do not rely on my opinions. I am absolutely no expert. I too am simply trying to learn as I go.

Good Luck.
