RE: >>> ...surely there should be some company out there with the marketing and cash position to take this company over. after 25 cents a share is a far cry from 3.50$. any comments. <<<

I believe the EdHeads must make a deal (partnership/acquisition/merger/joint-vernture/etc.), and the longer they delay, the more difficult it may become (with millions more in losses on the horizon).

IMO, the most likely candidates include the majors (IBM, Seagate, Quantum, WDC). It doesn't help that the whole DD industry is struggling, and I expect that the suitor might receive some opposition from their shareholders if they were to devote critical resources at this point in time.

After all, even at the right price, entering the removable market is a risky proposition, and unless one had a shot at being the next floppy replacement, it would appear the max market potential is somewhat limited.

With the continually dropping prices of read/write CD drives and the near arrival of read/write DVD drives, I would think that mid to high capacity removables will be limited to those who simply must have speed. Perhaps some of the new audio and video applications (such as the ones Castlewood is targeting) will provide a larger market, but I'm not certain this is a sure thing.

In any case, I think it is very likely we'll hear something from the EdHeads soon. If not, well, you know...

Regards - Dale
