freeus:
If you are margined so far that you are in imminent danger of a margin call, then especially in this yo-yo market you are too deep into your margin. Leave some water in that bucket to protect against a 10-15% dip, and since we are talking about Dell don't answer a margin call until you actually receive it. Until we get October behind us (at least), assume a squirrelly market will cause some gyrations in price, even with Dell.
On the other hand, if you have the cash, then if I were you I would buy now, or maybe on Friday afternoon, at the latest. Also, although the suggestions to reduce your risk by way of options are good in concept, please, PPPPLLLEEEAAASSSE tread lightly there until you are very sure of what you are doing, because otherwise that can be a quick and easy way to throw away our money. Do the CBOE course and paper trade for a while.
