I am surprised at the authority with which the writer has written his ignorance about the OLAP products and what they can do. I would like to have a few SQL queries written by this expert to obtain the market share of coco cola for Bay area or quarterly profit/loss of a company. Hey! expert, are you scratching your head. I am sure Hyperion takes away the jobs of such experts who spin months together to put a few SQL queries to make a living by consulting.

Currently, the market share of OLAP and dataware house products stands at $8 billion per year. Hyperion has a share of about $400 millions per year. Market analysts such as Gardner group estimate the market share of these products to reach $100 billions by year 2002. IBM is the largest shareholder of this market segment by generating $2.5 billions per year. Six months ago, IBM has announced that it will have about 2000 experts in the field by the year 2000.
