S&P Futures way down.. 14.70. Japanese market down up to 3 percent same as with the European stocks.. Position traders should be prepared in the morning for brunt of the downdraft. I might have to sell my 4 options at the open, although they are earnings plays. Luckily I have very few calls and sold off most everything last night. CMGI..sometimes it pays to be overcautious! I know most of you were savvy enough to exit your larger positions yesterday.

Prepare to short the banks or buy puts on the techs and the internets. You might pick up some S&P option index puts early one. I suggest you get at market and note even if they are down 30 at the open it end up down over 150 so take that into consideration. Watch the oil service and gold sector early on. This was expected, right Jeff?

Never hold too many open positions in these times. Gilette might be okay for a bounce. Interesting to see if the good earnings reports of MLHR, CCL and some others will help them withstand the brunt of morning selloff.
