<<I don't want someone else to suffer for my errors. Wish you folks felt the same. What a selfish lot you are. >>
While we were sinners Christ died for us, Romans 5:8-11. No one knew what Jesus was doing when He allowed Himself to be crucified. What He did, He did for us while we were still existing in the futility of our own minds. Jesus's completely selfless act was done for all mankind. We can only be eternally grateful to Him for it. We were helpless in the power of sin until He freed us, all those that believe. To believe is not selfish, it's accepting a gift freely given by Jesus to us. It was His act of sacrifice that saved us, we had nothing to do with it. As Paul wrote to the Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as the result of works, that no one should boast." No man can take any glory for Christ's work, all the glory goes to Jesus. Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." |
