Message 5761524 Microsoft executives reportedly responded to the news kindly while reminding industry watchers that GE is a much larger firm with over $90 billion in revenues in 1997 compared to Microsoft's $14.5 billion for the same time period. Microsoft had $4.79 billion in earnings last year while GE earned $8.2 billion in 1997.
