Behind the BS what AG was really saying is that the world economy is screwed and that he's not going to sacrifice the us economy to save it. that better slow growth or no growth than pumping $$$$ into ineffecient systems. HE KNOWS that a rate cut is not gonna do diddly... how could it, even if the long bond was at 0% it would look good as compared to losing 5% a day on currency depreciation in Brazil etc. Sure they'll fund the fund and use it to reward those willing to take its medicine, but they ain't gonna let consumption in the US expand to make up for the rest of the world. so what we're gonna get is a little assett deflation, to reduce the value of our wealth, because it is better in their eyes than inflation. on the micro tip.... anybody who really thinks intc has turned the corner is living in cloud cuckoo land.... they are a stoggy monopolistic producer, about to get brutalized by no growth and the commodotazation (can't spell today) of their biz, the past q's results were an unhelpful mirage created by a quirk in pc inventory replenishment for a christmas that will likely not meet expectations, and reducing costs. AMAT has far further to fall because outside INTC philips and siemens there is no liqidity.... I see jacob has become a bull.... I am still firmly a bear. there is nothing but bad news to come. this rally was built on the hope that AG would save the world. Yesterday he told us that that was not possible
