Hiram, The Whitehouse has said in no uncertain terms that they would lead a "scorched earth" policy should the Republicans move toward impeachment. We are now seeing that policy in action. Dan Burton reported that over 200 people were interviewed by "reporters" recently and they got the dirt on him. We have seen the same tactics employed against Dick Army, Henry Hyde, and others as the Whitehouse tries to burn down Washington in an attempt to derail the Senate impeachment vote. This whole situation is ugly but remember that one person is responsible for all of this: Bill Clinton. The guy has no honor. He is a moral scab for doing this. I think they may have the votes to toss him out of office if he keeps up this behavior. Even Nixon had the honor to leave office after he realized that his position was failing fast. The damage being done to the Office of President by Clinton is serious. Here is a quote from Nixon's resignation speech that Bill Clinton would do well to consider: "Always remember that in this business (politics) people will hate you. Never hate them back because if you do, you will end up destroying yourself..." - Richard Nixon -john
