today's weakness is about japan and alcatel. europe sold off because of alcatel. alcatel lost some major contracts to competitors but instead blamed its weakness on asia and russia (i follow the alcatel market because of other companies we own); nevertheless the ceo's comments caused concern in european markets. japan sold off as a pre-emptive toward banking legislation. Dell's business remains strong.
