Pal, FGX also has about $3 in cash /sh which when added to the in situ valuation adds up to pretty close to where the stock trades. The $50 per oz is not an established rule of thumb by any credible analyst I know. It may be popular but it ain't right or useful. The value of a deposit on an in situ basis is based on the gross margin after production costs. Grade and price are the other factors that determine this. There is no ballpark number that you can apply to gold deposits. I guess you're not reading the paper with respect to the enormous level of civil disobedience in Indonesia? Hungry pissed off people are actually breaking into a variety of places and they are taking what ever they want. Doesn't sound like there's much in the way of important things like law and order, properties rights, you know, simple things like that. All assets, foreign or otherwise, are at extreme risk. If you can find one mining person who will give Indonesia a lower risk profile than Mexico right now (or anywhere else) I'll buy some Spire.
