Barry and All: This is my fifth and last post that SI will allow me per day - so, I won't be back on until another day - maybe Sunday night. I'll give everybody, including myself, a rest (ggg).

The sochastics indicator is essentially a momentum indicator telling you whether the market indexes or even individual stocks are oversold, overbought, or neutral (neither oversold or overbought).
This is shown on a graph usually with the numbers 30 and 70 thereon. When the line for that day on the graph is under 30, it is said that the index or stock is oversold; when above 70, it is said that the index or stock is overbought. Between 30 and 70, it is neutral with the middle being equivalent to 50. Technicians will sell when this line is going over 70 and buy when this line is going under 30. Of course, sometimes in certain situations, they will buy or sell anywhere on the graph. That is determined by how the trader is reading what is happening at that particular time in the markets.
Good night and Good trading. Jack
