Paul, Re: "Doug & Intel Investors - Compaq And Mentor Graphics in Joint Windows NT
EDA Development on Intel Architecture Platforms.'

Paul, thanks for the article.

After going around and around with the Scumbria on whether design tools are catching on with NT (Workstation) as an OS platform, here's Mentor Graphics and Compaq helping validate that it is. Mentor joins Cadence and other leading companies that are putting EDA on NT, and also joins Autocad, Pro Engineer, Solidworks, HP and many other mechanical CAD programs already solidly on NT.

UNIX is probably still king for EDA. It's reduced to a Jack for ME CAD, though, because of NT inroads. The self fulfilling prophecy of NT swarming all over UNIX, and eating into it, looks less like an inevitability and more like a happening every day.
