I thought it was interesting that todays jobs numbers came in above expectations suggesting that wage pressures must be continuing, companies might be facing the dual terrors of falling prices and rising costs, not good for profits.

I wonder if Greenspan told all of the story yesterday. Someone suggested on CNBC that they have a limited number of options at their disposal and that they might want to save a rate reduction for when things get really hairy in US mkts. I also would imagine that they would insist on some real movement on the part of the Japanese to deal with their banking problems, which must be very difficult to elicit.

BTW...many big techs not doing as badly as usual in this kind of selloff,at least so far..
