So what is this response really saying? Anyone care to translate?

It looks to me as if OAC is listing the reasons that the price drop should NOT have happened, but is not addressing any reasons that the drop DID happen.

Two explanations for the drop occur to me (just my own speculations here).

1) The press release mentioned variable-rate mortgages. With the prospects of an interest rate drop, that means OAC would have to cut at least some of its interest rates and may not be able to get comparable relief from the providers of its own funding sources. That means a profit squeeze.

2) With the global economy looking grim, I wonder if there is some prospect of a default by one of OAC's major borrowers.

However, it does look as though OAC's release is working. With the Dow off almost 200, OAC stock is up about 3/4. Good luck to OAC longs.
