Y2K - Most Americans ...
Please pay attention to that fact the that Y2K doomsday standard bearers are such luminaries as Gary North who is perhaps certifiable. If you look at his history he has been trumpeting doom for years - not too many years ago predicting bodies piling up in the streets from HIV deaths.

All this stuff about the grid going black and all? Dear me. It's a crock, and even if it did happen, it could be restored in a day at the outside under completely manual control. And all that stuff about the financial systems of the world are just silly. Y2K pales by comparison with the conversion to the Eurodollar.

What Yardeni is doing? God knows. Talking from his ass if you ask me.

I write this having been "blessed" with a number of acquaintances, including a physician, a concert violinist, and a ceramics artist who are all stockpiling food and worse for the coming horrors. A number are literally heading for the hills. (Which my Russian friends assure me is generally not a good place when things really and truly tank. Cities manage and get through unless they are under direct attack.)

Y2K will be a nit if it is anything at all. Don't bet your money on it EXCEPT as a pure perception play.

Hmmm. But - these bozos could reap a windfall since they may be buying desirable retirement property prior to the "big-bang" in retirements. That would be seriously obnoxious. ;-)
