David, I agree that when it comes to Java / CORBA IBM is in the game! No question there. In fact I consider them the true leader of Java and CORBA. I also know about the SanFrancisco project. The statement you quoted from me was not interpreted correctly by you. When I said IBM being in the game, you were thinking of the wrong game. IBM is not in the distributed computing infrastructure game. To clarify that: IBM will not have any control of the platforms that run the massive majority of desktop and intel based NOS/SOS. Warp is a lost cause in the industry now. IBM is trying to convert and soon market Warp into a new niche - A dedicated JVM machine. But since it will be extremely difficult to sell the business world on letting go of their dominent WinTel or NetWare intel OSes, it will be hard for IBM to make the evolution happen to non WinTel OSes. You are 100% correct on IBM and their Java CORBA leadership - no diputes there! Toy
