Hi,
It costs money to "scrub" sulphur out of the gas. As to whether sulphur is a blessing or a curse depends on how much is present in the gas, the price of sulphur and whether or not you are a member of Cansulex(ie. are you a member of the Canadian sulphur producers export sales "club"). At this time, the price of sulphur is at historic lows in terms of constant dollars (not unlike most other commodities). I hope this helps explain the sulphur situation in addition to greyhairs accurate comments.
