As long as politicians get away with lying and cheating, they will lie and cheat.

Hmmm no, I think you've got this wrong. Some people are going to lie and cheat. This includes almost every business leader if you paint the lying and cheating with a broad brush. If you create a climate via IC investigations or whatever, that doesnt allow lying and cheating, those people simply wont run for office, thats all there is to it. Now the question becomes are we better or worse off for that? Personally I think worse.
