Computerware numbers have been around for quite some time.
Funny, because the article says that the figures were released "today" (meaning yesterday)...
"Something" happened today that make him take notice?
Indeed, somebody (Phil I think) posted the link to the story, and as usual, I read it. Did the math, and the thing looks good. That's what happened.
The figures are for the full 15 days of august and are in line with the report from ZD, so you cannot just presume its a blip as I did with a lot of the other testimonials from the first day of sales. E.g. sure, the iMac sold out in Japan, but only 8,000 units were shipped there. You cannot read anything into that. Now if they sell out 50,000, I'll pay attention.
I've seen the iMac ad on Headline news, ABC. I've seen iMac billboards everywhere and in a couple issues of Newsweek. Maybe ol' Al will notice some iMac ads now that he got himself out from under that rock.
That won't happen. As I said, I read enough magazines and watch enough TV that if there was any iMac ads around here, I would have seen them already...
Then again that would be a waste of our ad dollar.
sadly, I have to say you got that right. While my opinion of the company has changed, and I have held Apple shares a few times this year, I have yet to feel comfortable buying a Mac when all people around me use PC software...
A bear hug? Sure.
