I think it's best to start by looking at this 2 year chart. Notice there have been a few times that this stock has taken a serious pounding. Late 96 and Spring 97 are perfect examples. Also notice those two periods had the heaviest one week volumes. I think this is important. With the volume we've had this week, we will be adding a new volume spike to the chart. Each time in the past, this has been a signal to add to your position. FWIW, the last time I purchased a large quantity of VTSS was in the spring of 97.
Similar to TV, I dumped stock in the 30s, although I dumped 80% of my position.
Now, most of the semiconductors that VTSS produces can take up to 2 years to design and eventually create in production quantities. This is one of the main reasons VTSS always has a serious backlog of demand. The market is looking for stocks to punish and VTSS, with it's 50 p/e is a prime target. Add the concerns being voiced by TLAB, CIEN, Alcatel, LU, etc.., and you can see why VTSS get's picked on.
I believe that all the warnings and concerns being voiced by VTSS's customers should be followed carefully. At this stage, I don't see any reason to think that VTSS will be forced to lower expectations.
I view the current weakness as a nice opportunity. I too am looking for a price under 20 before I load up.
