Cryogenic Solutions Inc. Realigns Management Structure

BusinessWire, Thursday, September 17, 1998 at 17:56HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1998--Cryogenic Solutions Inc.(OTC BB:CYGS) Board Chairman Dell Gibson announced that Mike Skillern has been named chief executive officer and Laurence Mealey has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of the company. Gibson remains executive vice president and treasurer of the corporation. Mr. Mealey has also been appointed to the board and will serve as secretary. "This new structure will more effectively utilize the skills and broad experience that Mr. Mealey brings to the organization," said Chairman Gibson. "This will also free Mr. Skillern to devote his time and energy to developing new technologies to complement the company's proprietary ssDNA expression vector in the rapidly expanding antisense gene therapy arena." The changes are effective October 1. The Board of Directors has also formed a Scientific Advisory Board chaired by Malcolm Skolnick, Ph.D., J.D., and anchored by Dr. Charles Conrad, the co-inventor of the ssDNA expression vector. A formal announcement of the SAB membership will be forthcoming shortly. Full curriculum vitae of each member will be posted on the company's website, www.biogenix.com.
Other actions of the board included the divestiture of Physical Therapy Associates Inc. which will return one million shares of CSI common stock to the company. Mike Walters, founder of PTA, will remain on the Board of Directors.
