I suppose that if Merrill Lynch succeeded in getting its entire board of governors together to commit the entire capital of the firm for purposes of manipulation, they might move the market around somewhat for a day or two. They would also all risk going to prison, bankrupting the firm, and clsoing it down.

Now of course weird things happen, but those guys make too much money to try something like that.
