Folks,
Here is what I think will happen in the next few months. LU does not buy ASCEND in Oct. ASCEND starts DESCENDING from its lofty dizzying price to a reasonable low 30's. All of the sudden, one of the BIG Telcos (LU, Ericsson, ...) will jump in and make a bid in the hi 30's. ASND has no choice but to accept, the shareholders are tired of the roller coaster ride. And they all live happily ever after.
This is what Tim Luke have been saying, and I do believe that he is right, as well as a lot of other shorts out there who have been around this thread for a while, and have seen the same price swings happen last year.
On another not, wait a minute, didn't this just happen to BAY. NORTEL waited until BAY went down to earth from the $40 level, then offered its $38 bid.
PS: I hope that I am wrong, and ASCEND does go to the 70's or even 100.
