Reminds me of the old saw that I've heard for at least 8 years:
"Gallium arsenide is the semiconductor of the future and always will be."

VTSS, TQNT, etc. may just prove this to be wrong!

BTW, ATML bought some folks using Ge for some reason. My old boss used to tell me that people used Ge before Si. He said that Si was easier to purify so everyone switched.
