Trey,

Anyone who doesn't believe we are in a bear market presently, IMO is in big time denial...Those clinging to the low inflation, low interest rate back drop scenario for equities will soon understand the global nature of this technologically driven world economy...and how it's grinding to a halt...There will be very few groups with profit growth....And this Q's earnings will be much better than the next couple IMO...Deflation is far worse than inflation and it's effects on corporate profitability are ugly...The US will be the last bastion of relative stability...but recession is probably inevitable down the road...Now that I've made this rosy forecast I'm left to wonder about the longevity of this downturn in our economy and the severity of it's effects...Another area of denial is the amount of Y2k work to be done over the next few years and how it will impact an already shrunken bottom line. We could be looking at a relatively long bear market...Any thoughts?
