I am also the same age as our President and of the same gender. The only difference is, I am a naturalized Citizen. Before I became a U.S. citizen, I had to renounce the citizenship of my land of birth. If you have never had to do this, you will not understand the mental soul searching one needs to do. To me, The United States represents the most fair and moral country in the world, where the rule of law is supreme. True, there are miscarriages of justice form time to time like in any human endeavor. But, by and large I am sure you will agree with me, that we live in one heck of a better society than any other in the world. This is why I believe the President deserves what he has coming to him - for crying out loud, he holds the highest office of the land.
Regarding stock prices, if you are a serious investor and a student of the markets, you will not come to such superficial conclusions that the "Republicans are destabilizing the markets". There are numerous factors that impact the performance of the market. President Clinton's intransigencies and the consequences is just one of the factors.
Even if your thesis is correct, I submit to you that a decline in the market is a small price to pay for our national integrity. Believe me, if we do not hold our commander-in-chief to the highest standards of morality we will be no different from a third rate dictatorship !
I apologize for being winded, but some of the shallow arguments I hear on TV on this subject kinda gets under my skin.
