That's a good one. My 4 year old, who will be 5 in about three weeks, had soccer "practice" last night and when it was over he was complaining that the other kids were bothering him and he couldn't concentrate. "I have to concentrate on the ball if I'm going to score, Daddy," he says. Even though I watched the whole practice, I got detailed, slow motion replays of his best plays when we got home. The coach didn't have a whistle, which is a bit of a difficulty when trying to stop a gang of four and five year olds who are still going hard at it even though they are about 50 yards out of bounds. "Stop" just doesn't do it.
