Wrong. Lying is not a crime whereas manslaughter is.

In fact, one can make a case for various shades of perjury along the lines of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter and so on. In that case, lying about one's personal life should be a far less severe offense than say, lying to protect a murderer.

Dipy.
