No. Have you? The point is that he has more influence on the stock than I or you. He buys and sells and recommends stocks to millions of sheep investors. Most of those investors don't know what a CPU is.
It is all about perceptions. When consumers perceive that a K6-2 do faster graphic than PII then consumers buy K6-2. Perceptions count heavily in consumer decision making. AMD has a 3D weapon that is potent to Intel threat.
