FWIW, from thestreet.com:
Boise, Idaho, DRAM maker Micron (MU :NYSE) seems to be a company blessed with good timing.
Micron's vice president for corporate affairs, Kipp Bedard, dispensed with a presentation Friday morning and instead took questions from the audience. The biggest question was the state of the DRAM prices in the market. Bedard had great news on this front: In the last week, right in time for the Monty conference, contract prices for Micron's top-tier customers -- i.e., Dell (DELL:Nasdaq) and Compaq (CPQ:Nasdaq) -- have risen. And prices on those accounts are always the last to move, Bedard said.
Bedard also said that inventories are down as demand has picked up. "In the last week of June, the first major retail PC guys came back into the market and from there it continued," he said.
