No one seems to be considering what we (especially those at TLAB) would be talking about today had AT&T waited until one hour AFTER the merger talks were done to break the bad news, and TLAB stockholders would have been stuck with a hugely overrated dog. The stream of earnings disappointments that followed would have been forced on TLAB, and could have dragged it into hell along with CIEN. The fact that they've completely nixed the deal knowing what they know now speaks VOLUMES about the inaccurate projections coming from CIEN before the merger meetings. An anonymous e-mail from an unknown source does not have the clout to kill a megadeal. TLAB stockholders should be thanking AT&T for their timely decision.

Of course CIEN is whining. They came so close to selling their trash at a treasure price.
