Agreed that would have been a wiser course of action.

Also, it would let other Americans know that they should not waive their rights in a criminal investigation.

I think the anger and humiliation associated with this probe into his personal life skewed his judgment at a critical time. He let them get to him.

Any pretense to bipartisanship of this matter has now been lost in the division of the Judiciary committee down party lines in their votes today.

The November elections will now decide this matter. I suspect there will be a huge backlash against the Republican tactics.
