Dougjn - thank you for using intellect instead of anger - I can only ask that you consider fairness in light of the frustration everyone on the Hill must be feeling.

They know, and have known for years what they were dealing with. We are outsiders - cocktail and dinner talk have spread the reality of the White House situation among almost all of Washington's denizens.

Long-standing American values and those that held them have been systematically trashed by the President and the people he surrounds himself with. That is not illegal and is not impeachable - but resentment must be building even in those as honorable and stoic as someone like John McCain. Others, lacking heroic restraint, are responding in-kind to the smears of people like James Carville.

Emotions run high - witness a few of the posts here.

I too, think it is inappropriate to release the tape - for the same reasons you outlined. Having been in depositions and in testimony situations, I can attest to how the sanctity of the seal of secrecy of a court should not be diluted.

However, I still contend this is much like the feeling you get when the officials at a game FINALLY call a foul on one of the star players who has been getting away with cheap fouls all through the game.

Can you hear the crowd roar? Well, yes, and as it appears from reading posts here, there is still a portion of the crowd who will boo the ref for trying to make the star play by the rules.

Mr. K.
