There is a UK company that says it has developed a Prion test.

I'll try and get the details. I suspect you are probably too late to get
on the bandwaggon though!
Incidentally, Scrapie is endemic in sheep but is NOT transmissible to humans.
Unfortunately it appears to have been transmissible to cows, but didnt happen until recently
because its only recently that (a) someone thought to feed ground up dead sheep to cows, and (b) the
UK goverment relaxed the regulations under which the sheep was treated. Specifically the temperature
was lowered, and it appears that some prion material managed to survive.

There is as yet no actual proof that BSE in Cows does cause CJD, but most people dont want to
take the chance, and I do agree that a test would be in great demand.
If I can track down the details I'll post them here.
