Hi Mark and welcome,

You know that my foundation is the bible. It puts us on different ends of the spectrum in that it claims God says there is only one way to be saved while you believe there are many ways to enlightenment. You know that the bible refutes much of what you believe.
Both cannot be right.
If the bible is right there are terrible consequences for those who try the many roads route. If it is wrong and the way you believe is right, how can we lose. (That is not what I based my decision to become a Christian on however.)
For a bible believing Christian not to share this knowledge with others is compared to not warning people that their house is burning down around them while they sleep.
Regarding Sam, I am reading between the lines and recognizing similar conversations and dealings with people that openly professed their affiliations on occasion.
Regarding not believing in the devil. If he exists, don't you think that people not believing he's around would be to his advantage? Think of the mischief a thief could cause if no one believed in him. In this instance the thief is stealing souls.
I recently read an excellent book called "Surprised by Faith" I will get the author and publisher names as soon as possible as it was borrowed and I no longer have it. It is by a scientist who went about attempting to discredit the bible using research and proven methods of determining authenticity and instead because of his conclusions became a Christian. Billy Graham ministries were giving it away recently. It might appeal to your investigative nature.
Better get a leash on old Shirley there before she wrecks all the china too.
