It seems like a big deal is being made about this sales tax issue.

It only affects a small percentage of sales, since you are required to collect a sales tax only when you sell to someone in your own state.

As a matter of personal preference, I tend NOT to buy items offered in my state to avoid the whole mess.

It is up to the BUYER to pay sales tax -- now that is where the cheating is going on and has for some time, not just on eBay, but in all of mail order. When those laws change, THAT will have a big impact on eBay.
