Mephistopheles was a famous literary figure. He only existed in literature. He was mentioned in a play by Marlowe and a novel by Goethe. I wrote a little story about him, under the UNREAL thread. You are welcome to contribute to the story. The UNREAL thread is under The Coffee Shop. Why are you up so late? Tonight, I watched the films, "Blue Velvet", directed by David Lynch and "Much Ado About Nothing" by William Shakespeare, directed by Kenneth Brannah. Not sure of spelling of Brannah name. Tremendous film though.
