in many cases it may not reflected on the OTC or other markets, necc. as it is borrowed from your brokers client "A" or his clearing house "B", lent to you "C" and then presumably "sold".
If you are trading thru NAZ, and thru an online broker, it very well may be cross traded. you sold "it" short, to an arb, a soes trader or an island trader, and your online broker rec'd the commission from both you and the soes/island or in house trader.
as with many betwixt the bid/ask trades it doesn't make much difference, even in level2, because someone is always on the other side of any trade.
don't get bogged down in the details, becaue they are more trouble than they are worth.It is all an illusion.
