OT: I like Brown & Co the best and Waterhouse the second best. I keep both.

Brown: Cheapest margin rates of anywhere I know, commissions $10 limit and $5 market both online and off, cheap option rates, fast executions and reports, good (favorable) executions esp on options, efficient, experienced, competent and courteous staff. They're good. Their web site is usually very fast and it's quite well designed. I day trade and prefer the site over my other favorite, Waterhouse, partly because it doesn't log me out. As Jeff indicated, the web site hasn't been overloaded on high volume trading days.

Waterhouse: advantage that marginable stocks start at 4-1/8 rather than 5+, but margin rates are higher and commissions of $12 are much higher if you use voice (by choice rather than web being down), higher option commissions, but also efficient, experienced, competent and courteous staff.
