John,
I think one of Dell's reasons for success is that many people have had a chance to try out Dell PC's in offices and other places of business first as employees, etc. and from that go to know what their computers were like by reputation for durability, tech support and quality. So, a lot of potential Dell buyers get to try their computers out in the workplace. Could you ask the Company how they would be able to create a good reputation for the quality and tech support for their computers and wouldn't they want to give buyers a chance to physically tryout their machines by having demos in Wahlmart?? Maybe a marketing campaign to give businesses great deals on buying their computers in volume at the workplace enabling employees to get a feel for the Avail machines and what they could do the next time the employee wants to make a personal purchase. A lot of Company's also have buy plans for PC's that are compatible with their office systems where they subsidize at least part of the purchase price of a pc system that the employee could work with at home doing company business and for personal use at the same time. My wife's Company has such a plan.
