Chuzz & ALL, I have two Dell catalogs that were mailed to me. The one dated August 1998 offers a Dell Dimension XPS R400 with a 10GB drive for $2499. The catalog dated September offers a Dimension XPS R450 with a 13.6GB drive for $2299. Both have 64MB of SDRAM and other similar features.

The price reduction, in one month, is 8%! ($2499-$2299)/$2499=0.08

Do you have any reason to believe that component pricing is dropping this fast, or even faster? I for one find this hard to believe.

Appreciate you comments.
