Hawaii Republicans Look for Gains
GOP Sees Its First Chance to Elect Governor in 36 Years

A poll conducted a week ago found 71 percent supporting
Lingle(R) and 23 percent supporting Fasi(R). That same poll
showed Lingle(R) ahead of Cayetano(D) by 48 percent to 34
percent, with 18 percent undecided.

In the above quote, the "(R)" and "(D)" are my additions to
denote the party affiliations of the various primary candidates.

First Lady Forges On
Clinton's reckless disregard for the first lady's sensibilities
has especially infuriated some of the president's female supporters.
"If I wasn't so dead set against violence," said Rep. Louise M.
Slaughter (D-N.Y.) "then I might have liked to have seen him at
Martha's Vineyard in a full-body cast with two black eyes. Women
might have felt a little better about it."
