A contrarian might think since everyone assumes October will be another horrible month or trading range, that October may very well be a good month for the bulls.

Consensus is becoming increasingly negative.

I've bought first quarter 1999 calls on Microsoft, Dell, Cisco and will be very surprised if I don't have at least a 300% profit on these by that time. These particular companies have repeatedly demonstrated their ability to meet or exceed earnings estimates under all types of economic climates, and have never to my knowledge disappointed the street. In addition, when the market shows any bullish strength at all, these stocks will be the in the lead for technology. It's a predictable boring strategy, but it's gonna work!
